Off to a good start

With a lot of rain recently our ponds are near full again.

Joey's first rabbits! He used his 22 cal. rifle. Good practice for deer hunting.

Joey and I got this pheasant on opening day. We had a great time on some public land and were the only ones out! It was hot, so maybe others were not motivated. Anyway, this bird and one of our chickens went into soup. Organic meat............

Another meet & gettin' ready with Raven

Off to a good start! The race was a short one - 1 mile, and Joey took 7th in 6:16. Pretty good considering that he was "boxed in" when they were running through the woods. Then, in Joey's words, "I blew by about 10 kids when I had the chance." He past this kid.

It's been unseasonably warm, but we need to get ready for what will hopefully be a snowy and cold winter. Something normal please! Raven must have felt the urgency also. The last picture here shows what was an outer wall of one of the sheds. These marks are about the size of a nickel and were made by hail back in 2001. I was going to paint over them when I added the addition, but decided to leave it. It's a good reminder of things that keep you humble.

Chlorophyll levels are dropping! My favorite time of year. Above to the right of the sun is a sun dog...caused by ice in the upper atomosphere refracting light.

Joey ran against 75 boys in this race, and took 9th. He is wearing the red/black.
