First day of school. It has always been a tradition to take their pictures. Some day I should put them together in a post.

This is one of my students, Corrine. Her and I went to Marquette University this past Friday so she could do some NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) experiments with a protein she is researching. Corrine will be enter her project in the Intel Science Talent Search competition this November. All of this grew out of the science team I started last school year. Pretty cool eh?

Summer update,odds and ends

The title seems a bit strong.....I guess this is one of the advantages of growing up in a small town with a small town paper (Valders Journal). Joey took second, 25 seconds behind first. Both him and Ring were 4 minutes infront of the third place runner.

Some before and after pictures of the porch. I sure do like carpentry, but I'm afraid I will be losing one finger nail - the hammer found my left index finger too many times! Just a few more things to finish on the exterior.

That middle window was heavy! I had help from two friends with that one. Joey and I did the others together.

Maddie went outside and took some "wildlife" pictures for you all.

See the dove? We have them everywhere, this one is real tame.

Odds, ends, and Summer

Maddie really enjoyed her teacher. All her teachers in elementary school were fantastic.

As I was working on my building project, Maddie took it upon herself to work on hers. A father's day present in the making!

Maddie found this rabbit after one of the dogs got it :( She called the vet (on her own) for advice.....but in the end the bunny didn't fare so well.

On the beam. As you can see I didn't realize that I could not rotate the video. If there is a way, I don't know about it. Maddie likes gymnastics and basketball. This was a tumbling program offered by the high school gymnists.

Last lap at the home meet this spring. Joey is in second place.

Michael is now the new 1600 m record holder - 1.25 seconds apart! That is a lot of time though. Joey's time was 5:01.

Their finish at Manitowoc. Here you can see that they lapped two runners. Also you can see the 3rd, 4th, etc. runners come in.

Where does time go?

You are right Steve, they grow up fast. Anyway here are a few photos of the kids. Maddie thought this icicle tasted pretty good!Watching a movie.
